Banner Patient Visitation Restrictions
Phoenix-metro, Casa Grande, Ariz. and Tucson, Ariz.
One visitor (over 12 years of age) per patient per day will be permitted in in-patient areas at Banner hospitals in Arizona. Visitors will not be permitted if the patient has COVID-19 or is suspected to have COVID-19.
There are four exceptions to the visitor restrictions:
- Pediatric patients (under the age of 18) may have one guardian or support person with them in addition to one visitor per day.
- Laboring mothers may have one support person with them in addition to one visitor per day. Doulas may also be present with laboring mothers. Doulas will be required to bring their own personal protective equipment (PPE) and leave the hospital following the birth. Doulas will not be permitted if the mother has COVID-19 or is suspected to have COVID-19
- Visitation for end-of-life patients will be accommodated; more than one visitor will be permitted in most circumstances. Your loved one’s care team will provide you with more details.
- These guidelines do not apply to behavioral health units. Visitors of behavioral units must check with the units directly to obtain visitation hours and guidelines.
Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visits will be limited to three hours or less. Visitors must bring their own masks and wear them continuously while inside hospitals. Those who do not comply will be asked to leave the facility.
Visitors are subject to a health screening at all locations to ensure they are not exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness. In addition, we ask that visitors remain inside patients’ rooms throughout the duration of their visits. They are not permitted to enter and leave the hospital multiple times throughout the same 24-hour period.
