Dr. Tony Canestraro is thrilled to begin his career with the supportive group at Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care. He brings with him a passion for individualized care for women throughout their lives with particular interests in minimally invasive surgery and enhanced recovery, contraceptive management, endometriosis, and high-risk pregnancies.

He hails from a small Ohio farm town, which served as the setting for the hit movie The Little Giants and was born to pharmacist parents. He grew up working in his father’s independent pharmacy but found a strong interest in medicine at a young age. He completed his Bachelor of Science – Biology degree and Medical Degree in Toledo, Ohio, before fleeing the gray skies and cold winters for beautiful Phoenix in 2016. He completed his residency alongside an amazing, supportive group at The University of Arizona – Phoenix at Banner University (formerly Banner Good Samaritan) Medical Center – Phoenix.

Dr. Canestraro has fallen in love with the desert and can frequently be found hiking, camping, and exploring its amazing landscapes around the state with his two dogs Tucker and Apollo. He also enjoys skiing, soccer, live music, triathlon racing, and unwinding with yoga.

Dr. Canestraro sees patients at our Tempe Office.
