Dr. James Jew was born in Hong Kong and emigrated legally to the United States. Eventually, he became a naturalized citizen. Growing up in Amarillo, Texas, Dr. Jew attended Amarillo College where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Sciences in 1979. He then received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Tech University in 1981. Dr. Jew graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1985. He interned in General Surgery at the University of North Dakota, finishing in 1986. He completed his OB/GYN Residency in 1990.

After 6 months as an Associate Professor at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Dr. Jew moved to Arizona and worked at CIGNA in Tempe, AZ, for 14 years. After working in private practice in Chandler and Gilbert for 5 years, he worked 10 years with our veterans at the VA in Temple, Texas.

Returning to Arizona 6 years ago, Dr. Jew practiced medicine near Glendale, most recently performing Locum Tenens work as well as laborist work. In his role with Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care, Dr. Jew will be working at Desert Banner Hospital with our team of Hospitalists.
