Vivace radiofrequency microneedling combines the benefits of traditional microneedling with the added advantages of radiofrequency (RF) energy which tightens the skin and stimulates new collagen production. This comfortable FDA-approved procedure uses ultra-fine insulated needles to create hundreds of micro-channels in the skin’s surface. At the same time, RF energy is delivered into the dermis, gently heating the tissue and triggering a natural healing response. This immediately tightens existing collagen fibers and continues to promote new collagen and elastin formation for several months.

Vivace helps with fine lines and wrinkles, mild jowling, neck laxity and crepiness, scars and acne scarring, pore size and overall skin texture. It has shown significant improvement on the face, neck and chest, but it can also help tighten crepey skin on the arms, thighs, knees and stomach and smooth the appearance of stretch marks and scars on the body. The microneedles can be adjusted throughout the treatment, allowing us to customize the depth of treatment to your specific skin concerns, your comfort level and your unique skin type. Because it’s not a laser and the microneedles are insulated, it’s suitable for all skin tones and an experienced technician can treat the undereye area and brow line.

Other skin tightening procedures such as CO2 laser resurfacing and fractional resurfacing have major downsides such as significant redness and swelling for 1 – 2 weeks and risk of hyperpigmentation, especially in richer skin tones. If you’re looking for similar results with virtually no downtime, Vivace is the answer. Patients typically experience some redness and dryness for 1 – 3 days, and most return to regular activities the next day.

What to Expect

First we apply a topical numbing cream so you are comfortable during the session. Most patients report feeling little to no discomfort. Next the Vivace handpiece tip is gently pressed to the skin and RF energy is delivered into the skin via the microneedles. Afterward, a soothing peptide mask is applied to the face which reduces any post-treatment redness. After the treatment, you may experience minor redness and mild swelling, which are common and usually subside within a few hours. Some patients may experience small dark dots on the treated area for about a week. Makeup can be applied the day after the treatment if there is any residual redness or dark dots. Most patients resume their regular activities the following day. For optimal results, we recommend a series of 3 to 6 sessions spaced about one month apart, based on individual skin concerns, age and goals. Some will benefit from a yearly maintenance treatment. Also keep in mind that a proper sun home care regimen can help enhance and maintain your results
